Another Award…

Blog of the Year Award 1 star jpeg

I was absolutely amazed when Dallas of Crazytraintotinkertown put a cryptic “Gotcha” in the comments of one of my posts plus a blog address. They say “curiosity killed the cat” but I still had to go look-see what she was on about. Now Dallas is one seriously good blog writer, she just has that mixture of humour and story telling that keeps you going back for more. Her posts are addictive. Her life over this past year has had so many twists and turns. Go and read some of her past adventures in Turkey, her stories of the honeymoon in Turkey are hilarious, and then you will want to keep following her and going back for more…

When I clicked on the link this is what I found…. Dallas had nominated me for this impressive award.

As bloggers we all squirrel away in our small corner of the blogosphere, putting down words and photos, filling our posts with what is our personal interest. When that post receives accolades in the form of likes, comments and awards it is deeply satisfying. So thank you Dallas for the recognition.

Awards are not a free ride we can sit back and wallow in, they come with attachments and conditions, these are…

1 Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award

2 Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.

3 Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award –  and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)

4 Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them

5 You can now also join our Facebook page – click the link here ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience

6 As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…

Yes – that’s right – there are stars to collect!

Unlike other awards which you can only add to your blog once – this award is different!

When you begin you will receive the ‘1 star’ award – and every time you are given the award by another blog – you can add another star!

There are a total of 6 stars to collect.

Which means that you can check out your favourite blogs – and even if they have already been given the award by someone else – you can still bestow it on them again and help them to reach the maximum 6 stars!

These are blogs I follow

  • First I am going to link back to crazytraintotinkytown check her out you will love her
  • Now in no particular order the following blogs are ones that I really look forward to seeing pop up in my reader…
  • Ailsa with “where’s my backpack?” She writes terrific road and travel stories with a great depth of feeling, she also runs a weekly travel theme challenge which I look forward to each Friday.
  • Next is the saga of Belle Grove plantation the story of a couples dedication and drive to transform a heritage home that was the home of an early USA president into a bed and breakfast retreat. In the face of many obstacles they are pursuing their dream and researching history and taking us with them on this journey.
  • Lisa at Zeebra designs is a very artistic lady, she shares her art work with us and her photos constantly receive awards. I loved a recent post where she and friends transformed a plain window shutter in to a work of art and documented the transformation.
  • Jo at chronicles of illusions is at times quite controversial she tackles interesting subjects and really gets you thinking, she is a great advocate against animal cruelty and is involved with the writing challenge NaNoWriMo but still keeps the daily post coming.
  • Dianne Gray is an author with a number of books under her belt so when you go to her site you can always be guaranteed an interesting read, her topics are varied but always well written and it is like settling down with a story-teller.

Oh there are so very many blogs I read and enjoy, the list could go on and on. To all the others I follow and regularly comment on I wish I had the time to mention you all. I’m sure you are all like me and totally addicted to this thing called blogging and you are all stars. So let’s all carry on blogging and enjoying each others posts…

What an honour; an award for me….

What a lovely surprise it was to open up WordPress a couple of days ago and find this lovely award waiting for me. It came from one of my favourite bloggers Eleenie of Denobears blog . Click on this link and have a look at her and her world.

I find it very hard to get my 70-year-old head around the concept of the internet. Imagine millions of messages, pictures, music somehow flying around out there, and magically getting to who ever it was intended for or sitting “out there” waiting in cyberspace for some one to log into it. Amazing…

I don’t understand the logistics of it but I love it and am thankful for the opportunity it gives to connect with people all over the world. A modern take on the old-fashioned pen-pal system. With the WordPress programme we visit people all over the world and, like in pen-pal days, share experiences and make friends with the “like” and “comment” facilities in the posts.

There are millions of people sharing their hobbies, lifestyles, thoughts, photos and much more so I feel quite special when another blogger acknowledges my blog. So back to Eleenie, thank you for sending the award. I enjoy following you as you tell us about your life in Bulgaria and your garden and the things you grow and see day by day, and of course your lovely dogs and photos you post.

In accepting this award it comes with strings attached…..

1. Thank the person who nominated me and link back to them in my post.

2. Share 7 things about myself.

3. Nominate 15 bloggers that I admire.

4. Leave a comment advising them of their nomination.

Just recently I also had the “versatile blogger award” and on that I gave 16 bloggers I follow so I will link you to that post and those great blogs and add another 5 that I have just recently found…

1.. Nyparrott

2.. Oak blog

3.. Photo nature blog

4..Incidentally

5.. skedazzles

I will put the sharing 7 things on hold for the moment as the weather is so great out side Matilda’s door that we just have to go stretch our legs and do a walk along the Main Street in this little old out back town of Winton that we are in at the moment…

See you soon with more info about Winton…

I have been honoured with the versatile blogger award

Blogging is like writing a book or an article, you potter away at it in your own private space, struggling to find the words that tell the story, sorting out a photo or two that you think will be appropriate. Then the marvellous WordPress program checks your spelling. It is a cyber-bite of your life and thoughts.

Then you press the publish button and off it flies around the world…

I cannot comprehend how it all works, but I am addicted to it, and it leaves me totally amazed by the diverse people you meet in the blogosphere. Over 2 million world-wide, what a great slice of humanity all joining together in writing and reading all this information and interesting life stories.

Well today when I checked my WordPress site I found I had been sent the above ” Versatile Blogger Award” What a thrill and an honour. I feel like I am at the “Logies” (Australian awards) or the “Oscars”. Well maybe that is an exageration, but it gives me a warm glow to be acknowledged and I thank Ric for nominating me. He describes himself as an ordinary guy, he is from the Phillipines and if you click on the following link you will find out more about his interests  http://blackhelios.wordpress.com/2012/06/12/surprise-surprise/

Now part of being given the award is that you have to disclose 7 things about yourself. Oh dear a bit scary….

Then you have to nominate another 15 bloggers that you can pass the award to. So here goes….

  1. I was a horse-mad girl and spent most of my teenage years involved with horses…
  2. My favourite smells, fresh baked bread, freshly mown grass and sweaty horses…
  3. I love gardening…
  4. I am a bit of a control freak: a place for everything and everything in its place…
  5. Travel is an abiding passion: what is round the corner and over the hill…
  6. Travel and true life adventure books are my favourite reads…
  7. Finally, dare I admit it, I am 70 y.o. but feel 50….

Now for the bloggers I follow in no particular order, as they say in the reality shows. ….

  1. http://norrisaroundaustralia.com/feed/
  2. http://amazingazaleas.wordpress.com/

I have added another I almost missed off my list, number 16 a great travel blog.

I enjoy following these blogs. Some are gardening, some are travel, some are photography. All are worth a look-see.

Well Ric that was quite a challenge you gave me presenting me the award, but I have enjoyed putting this post together.

Versatile blogger award

Well how about this!!!!

I am honored to be given this award by another WordPress blogger who came by and read my blog.

She found me by the couch surfing link, she also is a host CS. The amazing thing is she is from USA how mind-boggling is the internet, it can connect people from all over the world in a click of a mouse.

Of course I went to see her blog, What a talented person,http://artandwhine.wordpress.com/ go check her out…

One of the conditions of this award is to tell a little more about yourself and pass on the award, so…

  • My favourite smells, fresh mown grass and sweaty horses.
  • I’m terrified of my head going under water, except in the shower…
  • I’ve now discovered that my favourite flowers are the West Australian native wild flowers.
  • I’m addicted to travel ( but I think that one is obvious)
  • I’m also an organizer freak, love a place for every thing, and every thing in its place.
  • Do not like large, new houses, consider them a waste of resources and space.
  • Am addicted to muffins.
  • Love the computer.
  • But could survive without a mobile phone

OK well I pass the award on to

http://wrongwayround.org/?feed=rss2 Met up on our trip in Denham and admire their style of travel

http://meandthegirlfromclapham.wordpress.com/feed/ These subjects get me thinking
