Burleigh Beach looking south

Millions of travellers from around the world have voted on “Trip Advisor” travel website for their favourite beaches in Australia and Burleigh beach came in 4th with neighbouring beach down the road at Coolangatta 6th. (click on the tripadviser link to see all the fabulous beaches chosen around Australia. It will give you northern friends some thing to dream about…)

Barbara Messing, chief marketing officer said the beaches chosen had received “the highest level of praise” from travellers.

I feel so lucky to live in such a wonderful part of the world.

  1. Gorgeous beach. I suppose it does get very crowded at holiday times though. This is how i like my beaches, with just a sprinkling of people, well spread out. 🙂

    • Yes at Christmas holiday time it is packed around the patrolled areas, but with 40km of beaches along the Goldcoast a local can still find the quiet beaches 🙂

It is certainly a lovely beach, and I can understand the high level of appreciation. Personally, I prefer isolated rock shelves with small sandy beaches in between, but each to their own 🙂
Actually, living inland, I would be happy to just be able to get to any beach some days!

Do you have any rocky areas in between the beaches?
PS could you folks also please send some of all that rain down our way…. We haven’t had a single drop since the start of Jan!!

        • There is a small area of rocky pools at the southern end of the beach. I wish I could send you some of the rain, we are getting very waterlogged around here and they forecast more torrential rain tonight and tomorrow.

Wow, we could so do with some of that. My garden has big cracks 12mm wide and 1-2 metres long. Oh well, that’s the way of it I guess!

  4. Nice one. It is hard to know how they rate the beaches. There so many around Australia, as you know, and all are fantastic.
