The first tomato of the season is reason to celebrate. I have been burying my nose in my seedling tomato plants, just for the smell.

How is your weather Brenda? Has spring arrived properly yet?

It’s tiptoeing in. We had a week of cold and wet and then yesterday was gloriously sunny. Our trees are just starting to leaf out and the tulips beginning to bloom. Next week is supposed to be warmer and I expect spring in full glory.

Still in their pots, but about to go into the polytunnel. Today in fact, if I make a break from screen-captivity 🙂

Do you have any pots of herbs or vegies on your boat Georgie?

My husband is not keen, as he says it will make it look like a barge or canal boat! Sometimes we have a little pot of basil, which is supposed to keep the flies away, but usually I forget to water it…..

Water, water everywhere but not a drop to drink for your basil!!! 🙂

The first shots make the tomatoes look big. Gotta love a cherry tomato, though!! I miss a garden…living in an apartment 21 stories up.

That’s why I put the shot of them in my hand. The first shots are very deceptive. You could grow herbs in a pot on your windowsill!!!

you are so nice to let the little critters nibble – that is hard for me to do. and mmmm mmmm good to homegrown.

I don’t know if those are what we call cherry tomatoes, about the size of large marbles, but if so, I dearly love them. Just like eating candy that’s good for you.
