Weekly Photo Challenge : Boundaries…

Can you see where the reality ends and the creation starts?

This is a boundary with a difference. It is a boundary of what the mind conceives as reality.

From a distance I thought I could walk through the archway into a magical kingdom. But as I came closer it transformed into a “Tromp L’oeil”

This incredible work of art was in the court-yard of an enchanting and extraordinary world of the Crystal Castle. It is in the hinterland, surrounded by lush green hills, near that alternative life style village of Mullumbimby that I visited recently. I will be showing you more, much more of this amazing place, but I am still sorting the 300+ photos I took on the day.

This is just a preview of what is to come.

(Here’s another bench for the October “Bench Series” that Jude hosts)

  1. Such a wonderful work of art and those Amethyst Geode’s are wonderful gateways to the alternative reality beyond 🙂 Very clever and creative 🙂

  2. How clever the artist is to be able to paint something like this. I think I would like to go through that door to see where it leads.

  3. Wow, I like this. Where is he looking to?

  5. What a great choice for the theme, Pauline! I would love to visit that place, looks rather Tolkien to me, perhaps around Rivendell, the Elven kingdom (goodness, I read that book in my teens, never seen the films, but I still remember!)

  6. This is so beautiful! I would also have been fooled. 🙂

  7. A wonder i think – very good take on the challenge too!

  8. What a great post for the boundary challenge and yes, I guessed correctly, there is lovely Jack gazing into the mystical land. This almost makes me wish I had a courtyard!

  9. This is an exceptional trompe l’oeil!

  10. Very cool effect!

  11. Jack looks right at home in this magical kingdom!

  12. How other worldly – a boundary between worlds!

  13. This is stunning. You keep pulling rabbits out of hats, and then you do it again! Jack looks the part of pilgrim to another world.

    • I like that. Jack as a pilgrim to another world. It certainly was another world and I am still “mind boggled” at it.

  14. A lovely photo for this week’s prompt.

I love to receive comments, maybe we could start a conversation.
