Brisbane, city of the future…

Take a look at what is coming…

It was announced last night. They promise more jobs, more tourists and it is going to be world-class.

So what do you think? Will it entice you to come here?

Don’t forget the beautiful Gold Coast is only 100 kilometres south and we are hosting the 2018 Commonwealth Games. It is going to be an exciting future…

  1. Glitz and glamour and big money. Easier to sell than nature? It seems to be. 😦 But it’s a city so I guess cutting edge is where it’s at. I don’t know Brisbane so not best set to judge.

  3. Unless they introduce a few snakes, some dingoes and nice birds I don’t think I’ll be enticed to go there, Pauline. And it’s huge! 😉

  4. Totally horrible. All the glitz and artificiality of an airport, And I was just beginning to think Brisbane was a city on a human scale.

  5. I guess some people will be more tempted…but I would like to go anyway. I do not need anything like this.

  6. I absolutely hate gambling. I see shopping, sport and hotels, no first nation culture or any other except an amphitheatre that they don’t seem to mention a use for. A bit sad really.

    • There may be a sculpture or art work to give a token nod to the Aboriginals and I’m hoping they plan gardens and green space along the River. Should be interesting photographically, but it won’t draw me inside the Casino or the “high-end” shops.

  7. Not my cup of tea either, Pauline. I’m sure it will bring in the tourists and the bucks though.

  8. Pauline I am afraid this doesn’t get the thumbs up from me.. I dislike gambling and although I enjoy fine architecture Sky scrappers are not my kind of building either.. So it wouldn’t be attracting me.. It looks like they are trying to create a Las Vegas type of place .:-(

    • Yes I think they are trying to out do Las Vegas. I can’t even imagine how much it will be to stay at those 6 star apartments!!! Not for me either. I only hope they integrate plenty of gardens and green space.

  9. I’m not a fan of casinos or gambling – too many people lose too much money and lives are wrecked and I’m not a fan of large developments like this so I guess it won’t entice me to Brisbane! Maybe it will attract Australians, but I think there are enough places like this in the rest of the world. Are you in favour?
