Bench Series : January Garden Benches #2

Jude’s new bench series is very popular and has benches to sit on all around the world. Go to Jude’s post to see them.

Here is my number 2 entry, a peaceful, serene seat among the peace lilies in the Townsville Palmetum Gardens. To revisit those gardens click here

  1. A bench is a bench. But why does one always look more inviting when there are flowers about?
    Lovely picture. 🙂

  3. Love these photos Pauline. I have a small peace lily in a pot and can’t imagine them surviving outside in winter here.

  7. Last time we we were up there ( 2012) we drove straight through on our way south – we’d been up as far as Cooktown, stYed o/night with friends and then came down to Bowen. I know we stayed there in 2009 but cant remember if in 2010. Sounds awful doesnt it lol

    • Time really gets out of control doesn’t it? It was over 2 years ago since we were there and it just seems like yesterday.

  8. Hello PP
After your encouragement last week I’ve got a post ready for tomorrow. We’ll be up Townsville way this coming winter – it’s just a couple of hours up the road from Bowen. Might persuade The Golfer to do an overnighter during the time we are there

    • Look forward to seeing your bench post Cathy. Have you been to Townsville recently? We used to avoid it whilst the huge restructuring of the CBD was happening, but now it is a pleasure to visit.

  9. well this one grabbed me a bit extra because of the white flowers smack and center – and the way meld into the tree pulls you directly in – and then the eye scrolls the shot to absorb the textures and colors (which to me means it is a tasty composition overall) – 🙂

  13. I love the partial-bench and its angle. Benches are made to show off their surroundings, in many ways, I think.

      • I’m surprised you can remember where you’ve been when as you flit around the country so much! Is is nice being home for a while and relaxing, or are you getting itchy feet already?

        • The hard drive full of photos and the journals I keep when travelling are a big help in the memory department Jude. It is good to be home, but I’m finding this summer to be soooo hot and humid I dream a bit of Tasmania or Canberra!!!! But a cruise on the ocean waves will surely be cooler?

          • You are going on a cruise?

            • I can hardly believe it, neither can my daughter. I have always rubbished cruises, preferring to rough it and do it my way!!!! Maybe I am getting old(er)!! This will be the first “holiday” ie luxury and pampering, that we have ever had. I call our trips adventures, not holidays. We are taking a 14 day cruise from Sydney to Auckland to visit my family.

              • Well that should be nice and relaxing – do you visit lots of islands on the way then? I read about Norfolk Island and saw a film on Lord Howe’s Island whilst I was away. Must admit I am tempted to visit them.

                • No islands, it goes along the Australia coast with a stop at Melbourne and Hobart then over to the Sth Island of NZ and along the east coast stopping at places along the way up to Auckland where we get off. Not been to Norfolk or Lord Howe but friends tell me we should.

                • Sounds good all the same. I shall be interested to know how you find cruising 🙂
