Revitalising Rain.

Today it is drizzling. OK that is not going to get down and dirty into the soil, but oh how much the plants love that soft refreshing moisture.

Look at them, they are smiling as they lift their faces to the heavens.

Finally here are my lettuce only just 4 weeks old and giving me a delicious wholesome feed.

  4. lovely photos Pauline. over here there’s still a few flowering shrubs but everything in the beg patch drying up and browning and dying now the winds and heat have started. Jack’s last pumpkin carked it this week, never fruited. all the lettuce is finished, the kale on its last legs, but lots of tomato plants on the go. shall have to do a garden post soon – oh, and I’ve got chooks!

    • My spear pump is working hard every evening at the moment. That shower never lasted, but we are forecast for a storm tomorrow, here’s hoping. Jack keeps trying to persuade me to get some chooks… He hasn’t got his way yet…Guessing you’ll be going wind-surfing soon…

    • Thank you for appreciating my photos. I love nasturtiums in salads and they grow like weeds just pushing up their happy little faces where ever they find a space.

    • Rain really is special in this part of the world . At the moment we are not getting enough of it, but it could turn on us at any time and come down in torrents. Summer is supposed to be our rainy season…

  11. Stunning photos, especially the desert rose and the waterlily. Water lilies always remind me of Christine. I’m glad you had rain: it’s always welcome, and I even enjoy it vicariously. Thank you.

    • It didn’t really rain just overcast and drizzly most of yesterday, but it was a respite for the plants, now it is back to hot and sunny.

Well … I do have 2 raised beds Pauline but they need a revamp of soil … Last year I planted lots of daffs in one of them and had a nice source of cut flowers for indoors . I hope they’ll appear again this year if Lottie hasn’t disturbed them random burying of socks 😀

    • It is a lovely time of the year for growth over here, but after Christmas it all gets very dry. I don’t grow any through the summer they all go bitter tasting.
