Come and join me on the beach as the sun sets tonight in a blaze of glory.

Time to take the dog for a walk and see if the fish are biting.

  1. Hello Pommepal, lovely to see these pictures of Western Australia. I have a v good friend from Perth who lives here in the UK . I must show her these images next time i see her. She has pictures of Australian flora and fauna all over her house!
    BW’s Susan

    • Oh the wild flowers over here are magical Susan I passed through here in 2010 during wild flower season. It is a sight I will never forget

      • I’ve seen photos and they looked pretty amazing. If we can get back to Oz for a 3rd visit we will def be going West! Do you miss British flowers? Thinking of the snowdrop and bluebells woods we visited earlier this year.

        • If you come over to WA Susan, time your visit for August to September that is when the flowers are at their best. Here is a link to some photos of the flowers.
I do miss the British flowers especially all the spring bulbs, I have tried to grow them over here but our winters are not cold enough and the summers too humid in Queensland. But we are going to Canberra next month and it is very cold winters there so will see spring flowers this year

  2. Absolutely beautiful – and that osprey is such a magnificent creature 😉

    • Thanks Dianne. The ospreys have poles with platforms built for them along the beach so they have some where to nest.

You must look out for the green flash PP … I never believed it until I saw it on one of our far flung holidays . Love sunsets …that sand looks beautiful and silky .
What a mighty Osprey you captured !

    • Not heard of green flash before Poppy. When does it occur?

      • poppytump

It’s the VERY VERY last millisecond moment when the sun disappears down behind the horizon … usually seen best sinking into the sea PP . A tiny little burst of greenish light is what I saw as I kept staring and staring and not blinking … magic 🙂

  4. Glorious, in the third photo it’s almost as if the horizon is on fire!

  5. So lovely!!! Kudos~

    • I thought of you Cindy when I saw that osprey. The man that drew our attention to it said it comes there most evenings, so will have to go down for another photo session.

  6. What a lovely beach… and sunset, not to mention that osprey! Sigh…

  7. How beautiful! Gorgeous sunset captures.

  8. Glorious!

  9. one never regrets the time spent while enjoying the final moments and colors to the day. lovely! z

    • It puts the rest of the day into perspective when you can sit and watch the beauty of nature unfolding across the sky in such brilliant colours.

  10. Gorgeous sunset pics, Pommepal. Fabulous osprey shot!

    • We were so busy taking photos Sylvia we didn’t notice him till one of the walkers pointed him/her to us.

  11. Beautiful photos, so peaceful.
