Weekly Photo Challenge : Beginning

All beginnings have an end. But which comes first the end or the beginning?

For example, this Agapanthus flower, I have put the vibrant blue flower in bloom as the first photo, but look closely and you will see it is already fading, limp dead segments are slowly shrivelling. Soon the whole flower is gone and in its place the seeds develop and drop to the ground to begin the whole cycle of birth, recreation and finally death again.

2013 is now just a memory, aided by thousands of photos, but 2014 is new, just 6 days old, and full of possibilities. Dreaming and planning is all part of the beginning of a new adventure. I love this part of the year, the anticipation of things to come, new places to explore and people to meet.

So “bring it on”…

Beautiful thoughts and your photos are unique and always such creative art. Palm fronds magnificent. Our only agapanthus was just flowering as we left, regret that I did’t take a photo. It was a new bloom, beautifully fresh and young and with your fading and renewing it would have made a beautiful trio. When we return, meanwhile I will enjoy your blogs.

  9. You are so right, at every ending is a beginning. The dying flower releases it’s seeds for the new plant. I try and view human life this way as well, a series of endless beginnings. I even in some ways see human death as a beginning of a new and most mysterious natural cycle. Cheers to you my friend~
