Lingering Look at Windows : Last day on the road

It has been 6 days on the road and just under 2000 kilometres and now we are back home. Matilda (our van) went like the trooper she is. It was also 6 days with only one place to connect with the internet 😦 , but we survived the withdrawals and now it is back into cyberspace.

On the last day we did a side trip into the Blackall Ranges to visit the charming, historic towns and villages of Maleny, Montville. A day of browsing the shops, enjoying Devonshire tea and taking photos.

As we pass the Glasshouse Mountains we know we are nearly home and another adventure is finishing. It was a great stay and I will miss the feline family but I’m sure we will be back to visit them some time in the future.

Now to settle in back home for a few weeks before Christmas is up on us, then we will see what 2014 brings…

Dawn from ” The day after” has a challenge to find windows and post them each week. I love these Word Press challenges they open your eyes to the world around you. I also enjoy looking through all the other interesting and varied windows from around the world. Go to Dawns link, you may have some windows you can show us.

  2. So funny to see a mock Tudor house in the middle of the Aussie bush – (well, OK I know it’s not exactly in the bush) – but I just adore that hexagonal building with the intricate lacy wrought-iron balconies and decoration! Tell me, do you live in one of those lovely Queenslander houses on the stilts? I fell in love with them when I visited Queensland.

Once again beautiful photos and area looks fantastic. Have never been out that way, think we might remedy that when we are down. Would love to see the stained glass and the English village vibe. Thankyou for introducing me to blogs. Love Lyn

    • Those stained glass windows were beautiful, I’m sure they would inspire you, and the whole atmosphere of the church was so peaceful as it had soft music playing in the background

  6. The villages look so much like England….so pretty. Your stained glass photos are gorgeous, I especially love the last of the three. There’s a lot of romance in them. How’s your garden while you’ve been away?

    • Thanks for the comment Deanna I think they try to capture that English village vibe. The garden is all good our friends do a great job looking after it for us. I will be doing a post on it soon.

  7. Beautiful shots! I love interesting windows. They don’t make them in new houses like they used to.
