Outside the council offices in Longreach these Corellas had set up residence. Hundreds of them in 3 large gum trees. Nearly all were in pairs, cuddled up side by side. They made me think of Jack and I as we travel in our small van. By the nature of our accommodation we have to be very patient and tolerant with each other. It certainly brings us closer.
Jack is my travel companion, buddy and inspiration. He is very artistic and amazes me with his use of words and thoughts. He is also doing a blog. It is quite different to my Gypsy Life. He calls it “Jack’s Jottings” and already, in the short time he has been writing it, he has a loyal band of followers.
A couple of days ago he composed a poem about travelling. It really captured the feeling of our trip. I will give you the first few lines then I will link you to Jacks blog so you can read the full poem…
Over the far horizon, round the next bend,
we’re not watching TV my friend.
I could be comfortable at home,
there is no need for me to roam.
Here I am in a pop-top van,
living like a sardine in a can.
Travel is an adventure of discovery…..
