View from the top of Mt Maunganui
We are now staying with my daughter in Mt Maunganui. Mount Maunganui is a coastal resort town which enjoys great weather year round, and is a popular destination for those seeking sun, sand and relaxation.As New Zealand’s ‘Surf City’, Mount Maunganui’s beaches are great for surfing and diving, with large numbers of visitors wanting to experience the laid-back vibrant café and pub scene,
It is on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand and has a sub tropical climate and with sea,sand and sun it is a very popular holiday destination. The town is overlooked by The Mount Maunganui which is an extinct volcanoe at a steep 232 metres high it takes a challenging hour to walk to the top and is used by many, including my daughter, to keep fit. Five years ago, on his 75th birthday, Jack took on the challenge, so he was determined to do it again on this visit.
I did not go with him…
Well done Jack. 2 hours later he joined me in town and we had a celebratory cuppa.
