Lake Kaniere

Lake Kaniere, originally uploaded by gypsy woman1.

It was 6-30pm by the time we drove round Lake Kaniere. A 60 kilometre trip had turned into almost 100 kilometres after all the wrong turns. My frustration levels had steadily grown and the “which way?” discussions had become heated on my part.

Jack remained calm. ” Plenty of time” he said “look at the lovely scenery, it is day light saving and does not get dark till 8-30pm. Remember it is the journey and not the destination that is important”

So we sat and enjoyed the tranquil beauty of the lake. We had found our bed for the night in Hokitika before we set off to find the Gorge and Lake so there wasn’t any hurry
