More camp grounds…

Heathcote Tourist Park, originally uploaded by gypsy woman1.

We had 3 days in this van park and as you can see the traffic was a constant stream and on the other side of the park was the railway, but we saw the relatives and then moved on as fast as possible…

It was another tense drive to get through Sydney but chose the new Illawarra highway, route 6, and it turned out to be easier than we expected and within 40 minutes we were out of the rat race traffic and onto the Pacific Highway. Then onto New England Highway, route 15.

Had made a decision to go home via the inland route and the first stop was to be Maitland. The camp ground looked to be very attractive on the internet but the reality was it was mainly permanents that worked in the coal mines and highway 15 ran right by and, guess what? A railway line ran past the other side. Out came the ear plugs again…. Worse still the showers had some dirty baby nappies left on the floor in the showers. Not good…

Next day we decided on a change of plan and headed back to the coast road.
