Here is the inside of Matilda with Christmas cards on display and a bouquet of sweet peas and cornflowers Marion gave me. Doesn’t she look Christmassy? Looks like “Santa Claus” has come to visit….

On Christmas day there was to be a gathering of Couch surfers in Marialta park. So Marion and I stuffed and cooked a chook on the 24th and then put together a cheese and cherry board with dips and crackers and Marion made some delicious vege burghers along with a bottle of wine and a couple of beers we set off. Problem was Morialta park is large and we couldn’t find the group so we ended up having a very relaxed picnic, just the 4 of us.
We did miss our family but it would be one of the most relaxed and stress free Christmases I have had. The weather was perfect and the company was congenial. Fabio is from Columbia, a new migrant who is working very hard to make a home for his wife and young son when they come to join him next year. and Marion is our couch surfing hostess and a kind and generous person, sharing her house and time with us, and this is the spirit of Christmas.
