New area, new header…

We are now a long way from the fertile cane growing areas of the Capricorn coast. As we move inland we are now in the Savannah region, golden sunburnt country covered in termite mounds. Some how the cattle find grazing and the scrubby bush stretches for miles. This is the image of Australia as depicted by Dorothea Mackellar.

    Hello to both of you,

Wow! you’re certainly getting around and about, It’s hard to keep up with you. I’ve loved the latest accounts of your journey and all the lovely photos, I can hear the insects and smell the bread, you’ve made it come alive.

I will have a go at making the insect repellent, that is if I can get all the ingredients in Spain, as I too am a target for any biting stinging insect and am usually covered in bites.

Looking forward to the next leg of the journey!

    Take care, Sandra

Hi nothing beats camp oven bread and sitting around the camp fire with someone singing songs or telling stories. One of my favourite times at Agate Creek was listening to an old miner telling Banjo Patterson poems. He knew so many and would take us on an adventure while the fire crackled and lit up the dark night sky. Thankyou for the letter and books. We got them today. Our lovely BoYoung came and stayed with us for a few days this week and everyone had lots of fun together!!!! VC

I love to receive comments, maybe we could start a conversation.
