It is so good to have friends and one of the sad parts of travel is when you have to say goodbye, but the other side of the coin is when you come back and get to catch up with them again. So this has been a good interlude to meet and greet before setting off again.

I enjoy this technology that allows me to share my travels and keep in touch via the blog. I would like to make special mention of my friend in England, Margaret. We have been friends since we were teenagers, through all those turbulent years, sharing secrets, discussing boyfriends and growing up together, till I left for New Zealand in 1960. We still kept in touch with letters, cards and the occasional phone call. As years rolled by and we joined the computer revolution we used the internet for sending messages. In 1990 I went back to England to visit my Mother, it was 8pm when I finally arrived in Hull and waiting with my Mother to welcome me was Margaret, what a great reunion….

Margaret now lives in a very small and quaint Yorkshire country village called Withernwick. A couple of weeks ago she sent me the address to the village web page. It makes such interesting reading that I would like to share it with any one who is interested, so click this link and go for a trip to Withernwick in Yorkshire.
