We are now at Clifton a small country town 30km north of Warwick. This is Jack and Molly having a beer at O’Shanley’s Irish Pub before having a delicious lunch of, what else, but Irish Stew, they told us it was from an original recipe handed down through the generations of O’Shanley’s. The young barmaid, in the photo, was an Irish backpacker and had a lovely lilting irish accent, auburn hair and beautiful skin.
Molly had told us of this pub and the camping on the local racecourse. We would not find it unless told as it is not sign posted as a camping area. The camp was only $7 per night and had power and showers. Last night the wind was a howling gale and rocking the van, so we pulled down the pop top and were as snug as two bugs in a rug…
This morning we woke to the sound of horses hooves pounding the turf as they had their morning excercise. Today we move 11km down the road to Nobby to spend the weekend.

The weather has been quite good since our visitors went back, but I expect we will get some of the rain from the cyclone that is up north, hope it doesn’t come down too far.

    Hi Jack & Pauline,
Well, we have got rid of our visitors yesterday,Tuesday, had a job to fill the time, the weather wasn’t the best & they don’t like computers, TV, so what do you do with them.
Looking forward to your next Blog, who’s dongle did you get? I guess you have to have Optus or Bigpond to get the coverage.
We had a Hands on class yesterday with Dymity, went well everyone enjoyed it, I am managing to fill up the diary each month so far but not sure what to do in May, I guess something will turn up.
We are off to craft tomorrow with Pat, we are doing well with our cards & have done over half of Birthday ones.
    Have fun love from B&B

  5. Thanks for comments we love to get them,
Brian, Jack had his biking gloves on we biked every where in Clifton, great place to visit

Hi Al good to hear from you, we have just spent 3 days over the weekend at Nobby at the FREE campground opposite the pub. Will be updating blog with details soon. We have been in unpowered sites for quite a while but now have a “dongle” bought in Toowoomba today so should be more regular updates. Now heading towards Bunya Mts. Nat Park.

Hi guys– I guess that Allora has benefitted greatly from the recent rains! It has been very dry around there.
I’ll add the showground to my campsite list!
You would find the Goomburra campgrounds quite good- not far away but the wet weather might not be to your advantage. Well worth a visit though!
My niece’s husband has been acting principal at Nobby for the last year but has now returned to Toowoomba.
Keep a lookout for the Steele Rudd pub on the Toowoomba -Warwick highway- it’s a good stopping off point!
    travel safe

    Hi Jack & Pauline,
Great to hear that you are having a good time, you seem to be getting to some out of the way spots, thats what I like all the small places, I hate towns.
We have our visitors with us now, they arived yesterday, they are from Bognor in the UK, went out to The Tweed Golf club for lunch today, then a ride alone the beaches back home.
Weathers not too bad at the monent, a little rain but otherwise it is good.
What’s the idea of the gloves Jack, cannot touch the ladies with them on, kep havein a good time, love to hear when you get time, hope you have heard from other people.
Going to the club on Monday to hear Rod talk again, remember him, the detective, great talker.
    Take care love from B&B
