The search continues…

Jack saw an ad for a camper van in the Courier Mail. Wow could this be the one… After phoning we decided to go have a look. It was in Mansfield, south of  Brisbane and near Logan. 40 minutes along the motorway.

Oh dear, no good!! I must remember to ask  “is it a pop top?”  next time. It was also a home conversion and not very well done. We have set our minds on a pop top style of van.

On the way home we tracked down a couple of van sales yards but again only  large motor homes were available. Not easy to find what you want they tell us…

We called into Ikea for lunch having been told it was good, reasonable priced food. Over lunch we came up with “plan B” If we can’t find a suitable van let’s go in the car with (wait for it) a tent as an emergency, and staying in camping ground cabins,  back packers or similar. We became quite excited at the idea, and this was just on 2 cups of coffee, and came up with lots of reasons it would work. First we have decided we must give it a trial run by going off for a week into the wilderness somewhere to see if we can actually sleep in a tent….

Watch this space for progress reports…

Then we wandered around Ikea trying to find the way out, not easy, and we were soon following a small group of people all trying to find the exit, or at least a member of the staff for guidance.
